The Great Escape

I looked out the back door the other day and there is my child... with his slide up against the fence, yearning for the playground on the other side. He was having a whole conversation with himself, complete with the escape plan!!!

Rocco Puppydog!!!

We took Rocco over to the dog beach at Bellows to find some friends too... it was great. There is a huge area that is a sandbar, basically. The waves don't start for 100 yards out. So all the dogs run around and get their play time in too. I was a little nervous with Rocco's legs and all, but he behaved himself. Got a little exercise, but not too much. Connor chased the dogs too so it was a win-win :o)

More Beach Time at Hickam

The other day we went over to Hickam Beach with friends, since it was a holiday and all :-) Connor had a blast with his friend Caroline. And me, Jen and Stasia sucked up some sun and gorgeous weather.

Time Out for a Little Football.... in February!

Friends of ours got us tickets to the Pro Bowl, so a bunch of us headed out to Aloha Stadium to see the best in the NFL on the 8th. It was sunny, warm, and we had great seats (thanks Jen!). The Pros were out in full force, as were the mascots and cheerleaders. Final score: NFC 30, AFC 21. GO NFC!!!

Boogie Boarding at Bellows

Last weekend we took a break from the unpacking & picture hanging to head out to the beach at Bellows AFB. It was gorgeous over there. Some clouds and wind, but still a nice day out. We also invested in a new, 'big boy' boogie board for Connor. It was certainly put to the test, complete with a wipe out onto the beach. I think Connor had sand in his hair/scalp for almost the whole week! He was not fond of the wipe out of course, but he did mention that the boogie board was 'awesomely cool.' I have a video to post as well but I need to put it together yet. Soon!!

Our New Home

FINALLY!!! YEAH!!! We are moved in at our new place in Honolulu, Hawaii. We totally got lucky and got a brand new place on base housing. It is fantastic! The downstairs is completely open so it's great for entertaining and hanging out, playing the Wii, etc. We have 3 bedrooms upstairs, 2 bathrooms, and a laundry room.. woo-hoo!! It really is a nice home and we are stoked that it's ours... for the time being. I'll be sure to take some more pics and update you all soon, promise.

Hawaii or Bust...

Well, it's our last day in San Diego for me and Connor. We've had the chance to spend a long weekend with friends and enjoy the beach here, which is always nice when it's January. We are really looking forward to getting to Hawaii tomorrow and getting our things moved in on Tuesday. Will got lucky and we got a brand new, fantastic place on base (will update pics soon!). We are so excited to be together again, we can hardly wait :-) And Rocco flies in on Thursday, thanks to my brother for sending him out to us! One big happy family, almost...

Hello from PA....

So here we are, almost mid January, and we are wrapping up our visits. Will is leaving for Monterey once again to get our things out of storage and shipped to Hawaii. Connor and I are leaving next week and spending a long weekend with friends in San Diego before heading out to Hawaii on the 26th. Still lots of challenges ahead of us, and we're unsure if we'll have a place to live until Will gets out there. We're hoping to get into base housing, but only time will tell. We've had a great time visiting our family and friends, and we are looking forward to getting moved in and settled in Hawaii. Once we do that, we'll be back online more often. Hope everyone is having a great new year! We'll see you from Pearl Harbor (with lots of stories and pictures :-)
